Crash is a provably fair game developed by Stake — the platform where it originated and remains most popular. A multiplier starts at 1x and rises exponentially, until it crashes. The player must cash out before the crash to collect winnings. Simple in appearance, but psychologically demanding.

Stake's version of Crash has specific mechanics worth knowing before you bet real money:

• Interface: Stake's Crash shows a live multiplier curve, a bet panel with manual and auto cash-out fields, and a public bet feed showing other players' results in real time.
• Bet limits: minimum bets are typically fractions of a cent in crypto terms, with no practical maximum for most cryptocurrencies — this makes Crash accessible at nearly any bankroll size on Stake specifically.
• Auto cash-out: Stake lets you pre-set an exact cash-out multiplier (e.g. 2.00x) that triggers automatically, removing the temptation to hold for "just a bit more."

How Crash works

Each round, Stake generates a cryptographically random result determining at which multiplier the crash occurs. The multiplier can crash at 1x (immediately) or climb to thousands. The distribution is not uniform — low multiplier crashes are more frequent:

• ~33% chance the crash occurs before 1.5x
• ~50% chance before 2x
• ~90% chance before 10x
• ~99% chance before 100x

Auto cash-out multiplier: probability and expected outcome

With Stake's 99% RTP, the probability of a round reaching at least a given multiplier follows a simple formula (≈ 99% ÷ target multiplier). Here's what that looks like in practice for a 1€ bet:

Every target multiplier has the same long-run expected value (roughly -1% per bet, the house edge) — no auto cash-out setting is mathematically "better" than another. The real difference is in variance: low targets win often but for small amounts, high targets rarely win but pay out big.

Main strategies

Auto-cashout at fixed multiplier

The most disciplined strategy: set a target multiplier (e.g. 1.5x or 2x) and cash out automatically every round. This eliminates emotion and produces predictable results. At 2x auto-cashout, you win roughly 49 out of 100 rounds.

Low target strategy (1.1x–1.5x)

Frequent bets with low multiplier. High success rate but modest gains. Suitable for players who want to extend sessions with limited per-round risk.

High target strategy (5x–20x)

Rare bets with high multiplier. Low success rate but large wins when it hits. Very high variance — requires a substantial bankroll to absorb losing streaks.

Classic mistakes to avoid

• Waiting "longer" after several low crashes: each round is independent — history doesn't influence the next result.

Bankroll management for Crash
